Dr. Ed Pilat

MD, CCFP (SEM)

I graduated from the University of Manitoba medical school in 1971 and in 1977 I obtained my College of Family Physician of Canada (CCFP) certificate. Through the involvement of my children in sport I developed an interested in Sport medicine joining the Canadian Academy of Sports and Exercise Medicine in 1988. In 1992 I obtained the Diploma in Sports Medicine from the academy. I have subsequently been granted CCFP CAC in sports medicine by the College of Family medicine. Over the years I have seen many concussions, sport & non sport. With the diversity of approach to treatment of concussions I feel that it is important to try and streamline treatment for the patient. This should help the patient better understand concussion along with the goals of treatment. Working with the professionals in Manitoba Adult Concussion Network (MACN) will help achieve this understanding for the patient.
